General Import Requirements

• Vehicle Age Limit: Reconditioned cars must be no more than 4–5 years old at the time of import.

• Vehicle Types Allowed: Sedans, SUVs, Hatchbacks, Hybrid Cars, and EVs are commonly permitted.

• Origin Restriction: Cars must be imported directly from Japan, not via third countries.

• Certification: A certificate from the Japan Auto Appraisal Institute (JAAI) is required, detailing model, age, and chassis number.

Vehicle Condition & Delivery

• Servicing: Includes engine oil and air filter change

• Tyres: If worn, replacement cost is borne by buyer

• Accessories: Extra keys or SD cards provided only if included with car

• Modifications: Any aftermarket changes or dent/paint work are buyer’s responsibility

• Registration: Final payment must be completed before registration.

Legal & Dispute Resolution

• Sales Basis: “Used as-is where-is” — no reconditioning included unless specified

• Jurisdiction: Disputes are governed by Japanese law; Saitama District Court has jurisdiction

• Refund Policy: No refunds unless deemed reasonable; 20% deduction applies
